Discover Te Papa’s newest exhibition, Modern Living: Design in 1950s New Zealand with this tour designed for blind and low-vision visitors.
A vision for a more equal, happier way of life that grew from the devastation of World War II. Good, affordable design was seen as key to society’s transformation. Modern Living explores this important period for New Zealand artists and designers through local and international furniture, ceramics and art, and architectural ideas.
We will spend around an hour in the gallery. There will be seating. Afterwards, we’ll continue our discussion over a cup of tea.
Sighted companions and guide dogs are welcome.
Bookings are essential, as places are limited. After you book we will email you with more information – please tell us if you will be bringing a companion or if there’s anything else you'd like us to know.
