About the course:
This is a very special opportunity to develop and improve your mindfulness in meditation, and to learn how to use mindfulness in everyday life. You will also experience the deep inner peace that comes from a concentrated mind.

This silent half day retreat will include guided meditations and detailed instructions on training in mindfulness. Our Resident Teacher, Kelsang Luma will guide three short meditation sessions to help lead the mind to a state of deep concentration and peace. The environment of Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre is very relaxing and there is plenty of time between retreat sessions to go for a walk, read and contemplate in silence. You’ll even have the option to securely put away your phone to help stop distractions!
This course is suitable for all levels of experience.

The Teacher
Kelsang Luma is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre in Christchurch and is Geshe-las representative in the South Island. She has been ordained under Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for 15 years and has dedicated her life to studying and practicing his instructions and helping people solve their problems through Buddha’s timeless instructions.

Luma gives clear and practical teachings, sharing her deep understanding of the Buddhist path. Through her teachings and example she shows us how we can easily integrate Buddha’s wisdom into our modern lives.
