Last Legs by Roger Hall
Directed by: Glenda Pearce
Life in the upmarket North Shore retirement village, The Cambridge, is never dull. These days retirement village living has much to offer. But, of course, because people are people, we have everything that any social community has: “opportunities", grudges, passions, challenges, fun, ailments, affairs, love and lust. It’s all there in its glory.
News that the Prime Minister (Bill English) is going to open the new wing sparks political sentiments. The director wanted to “people" the community and capture a slice of the contemporary life style for the seniors of today. Is there anybody at the Cambridge with whom you identify? Roger Hall is a master of NZ comedy, and his witty dialogue never fails to amuse.
By arrangement with Playmarket.
