Johnathan Robinson and Friends

Last year Jonathan's gig at 50 Dundas saw a packed room enjoying this singer-songwriter's distinctive mix of trad folk, originals, silliness, old hymns, existential dread, and pop covers, not to mention some quality banter. This year the lanky balding Brit is back again, but is planning on adding a few new flavours to the recipe. Expect singing, piano, mandolin and guitars. Expect a variety of supporting guest performers. Expect to find yourself singing along with great gusto to a song about "my nose" or maybe the need for more fiber in your diet. Expect shipwrecks, puns, irony, tragedy, and household items used as percussion. Expect to be entertained and moved. Most of all, expect the unexpected, if you can, which you can't, otherwise it wouldn't be unexpected, but try anyway.
