Jazz at Bark! Friday Jazz Showcase #1

Jazz At Bark!: Friday the 31st of January marks the first Friday Jazz Showcase at Bark! (Dog With Two Tails) Jazz in The Pocket, Dunedin's long running legendary jazz jam night is branching out into Friday evening showcase concerts, putting the spotlight on the hottest local jazz talent from all points on the jazz compass.

Friday Jazz Showcase number one will feature the talents of electric guitar driven trio Philtre, who have been a fixture of the local jazz scene for the better part of two decades. Comprising Phil Lyons on guitar, Andy Lynch on bass and Kevin Finigan on drums, audiences can expect Philtre to deliver hard swinging and strongly expert takes on bebop, modal and Latin tunes, with a tinge of electric blues.

Jazz in the Pocket: JITP continues into 2020 on a twice monthly basis, with our new format of alternating Friday Showcases and Thursday Jam Nights. Next Friday Jazz Showcase: January 31, Next Thursday Jazz Jam Night: February 13.
