This unique musical experience with three exceptional performers takes you on a deeply personal journey through the generations. From the trenches and jungle of two World Wars, to the modern urban battlefield dominated by 21st century corporate powers....

Award winning singer-songwriter, author and Auckland family doctor Robin Kelly is joined by the multi-talented French/US singer and instrumentalist Sonia Wilson and Auckland’s world class virtuoso guitarist Nigel Gavin.

Their songs and stories take you from the depths of despair to the threshold of hope with music that embraces folk, rhythm and blues, country, gospel and rock and roll. “The time for peace has come, its seed's in everyone.”

“Eloquence, Elegance, Dignity. Pathos, Poetry, Sensitivity. Humour, Compassion, Beauty… ‘In the Footsteps of the Forgotten' will move you deeply as Robin takes you inside the experience of those who fought, and still fight, for freedom and justice in a world scarred by war of the military, corporate, social and personal kind. Don't miss it!" - Maria Monet, Auckland musician.

Robin Kelly is an Auckland-based family doctor, award-winning author, TED-X presenter and musician who has produced five albums of original songs over the past 20 years. His latest, ‘Orewa Heartbeat’, has received 5-star reviews internationally. Along the way, he has performed live on TVNZ, been runner up in Nashville's ‘Song of the Summer’, and has been voted into the Tennessee Concerts Hall of Fame.

His songs have recently featured in the soundtracks of three UK documentaries. 'In the Footsteps of the Forgotten' follows his popular one man show 'Shamanarama', and links his father's war story, with his own struggles with modern-day corporate control.

Sonia Wilson is an Auckland-based Franco-American singer, songwriter, guitarist, ukulele player and music teacher from Paris, France. Sonia is a member of the Gitbox Rebellion 10 guitar ensemble, a lead and harmony singer with various bands and one of the original members of the Tiny Orchestral Moments international music improvisation and collaboration ensemble in Seattle, USA.

As a graduate from the California Institute of Integral Studies course “Sound, Voice and Music Healing” in San Francisco, she is also an experienced hands-on sound and singing relaxation massage practitioner.

New York-born, NZ resident Nigel Gavin has long been a featured player in New Zealand’s eclectic music scene, particularly in Auckland, playing guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass, glissentar – indeed, almost anything with strings – alongside a wide variety of acclaimed artists and bands. Both a musician and a composer, he has a vast musical vocabulary which ranges from acoustic blues and folk to jazz, rock, fusion, surf pop, complex ambient grooves, and various world music genres, in particular, klezmer.
