Along with most of the other organisations resident at Brayshaw Heritage Park, the Marlborough Vintage and Farm Machinery Society will be open and is proud to host an active display of farming and related machinery and activities on Waitangi Day, February 6th.
This is a chance to visit what is thought to be one of the largest heritage machinery collections in the Southern Hemisphere which includes engines and tractors that are the only examples in the entire world.
Tractors will be running, a chaff-cutter will be operating, maybe a hay-baler or two or a traction engine powering a threshing mill. Lots of farming implements will be displayed including powered wood saws, old stationary engines powering water pumps and generators. Additionally, there is a sawmill under construction and a fully furnished Pioneer Cottage will be open for people to go through as well as all the display sheds.
Morning and afternoon teas, as well as lunches will be available for purchase while the ever popular BBQ also will be in action. To rest weary feet, there will be outdoor and indoor seating available, while "Thomas the Tank Engine" will pull a large passenger trailer around the grounds.
