It’s a life so ordinary it’s extraordinary. Come over for a cuppa with your favourite aunty from Bulls... Mrs. Pamela Hancock.

A night in front of the box was planned in with her husband Trevor, but when we decided to spend it at the pub Pam wonders if she could do better.

“Hello Darlings! With Pamela Hancock” is a one hour cabaret drag show for the NZ Fringe Festival 2020. The show brings a different type of drag compared to RuPaul and the ever growing popularity of drag in New Zealand and pays tribute to New Zealand television/entertainment of the 1970s and 1980s.

Pamela Hancock is a sixty-three-year-old lady who has been charming audiences with her voice like chutney and Kiwiana hospitality in the Wellington Drag, Cabaret and comedy scene. Pam is the winner of a WAPA Award including best Cabaret performer and “Hello Darlings! With Pamela Hancock” won best drag production.

Pam is hugely based off New Zealand’s first soap-opera Close To Home. A weekly suburban drama that ran from 1975 to 1983. Along with the music of yesteryear and entertainers such as Fred Dagg, Judy Garland, Dean Martin and many NZ women we encounter every day.

“Hello Darlings!” takes the audience on a comedic journey where it not only reflects the life of an ordinary person, but the social outcome that a lot of New Zealanders feel isolated in.
