Starting from humble begins in 1978 as the Napier Camera Club, the club changed its name in 2006 to reflect the membership from the Hawke’s Bay district.
This is their second exhibition with CAN and is a great way of engaging with the public, introducing the club, and giving members a chance to show off their photographic abilities.
Currently the club has over 50 enthusiast members, who meet twice monthly, one evening learning new techniques, understanding editing programs, and the other reviewing the month’s photographic submissions by members.
There is always the obligatory cup of tea and biscuits, and discussions about equipment, styles and other aspects of photography.
Whether you want to learn how to use your point and shoot camera better; are totally into your craft and want to improve your techniques; or want to enter the monthly competitions, you are most welcome to come along, introduce yourself and see what they get up to. They even have photos from cellphones which achieve honours in their monthly competitions.
Join the members to celebrate the opening of their exhibition in the CAN Main Gallery on Friday 28 February, 5-7pm. All welcome! Light refreshments will be served.
