Glenn Barkley: Higher beings reveal mystic truths & Jaime Jenkins: Break a fig.

Opening Saturday 22 February 5-11pm.

As part of Fired Up: festival of ceramics, Jhana Millers Gallery presents two ceramic exhibitions by Australian ceramicist Glenn Barkley and New Zealand potter Jaime Jenkins.

Glenn Barkley is an artist, writer, curator and gardener based in Sydney and Berry NSW, Australia. His work operates in the space between these interests, drawing upon the history of ceramics, popular song, the garden and conversations about art and the internet. Glenn will also be giving a keynote talk as part of the 1-day symposium for Fired Up on Monday 24 February. More details on the Fired Up website.

Jaime Jenkins is an emerging ceramicist/potter from Mount Maunganui. Dense and delicate hand-built pieces layered with sprayed glazes form Jaime's work, offering tangible links to the land of Aotearoa New Zealand. Working in stoneware, she is influenced by the natural landscape of the Bay of Plenty and the lineage of New Zealand pottery. The works in Break a Fig were made during Jaime's summer residency at Driving Creek in the Coromandel.
