The morning will start with music from Jenny Raven, APO Sub Principal of percussion. This will be followed by an interview with Romanian born, English pianist, Alexandra Dariescu. Alexandra is the soloist in the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No 1 in the APO’s Colours of Russia concert.

Highlights of Dariescu’s 19/20 season include debut with orchestras such as Orchestre National de France at the Enescu Festival, Tonkünstler Orchestra, Detroit, Houston, Sydney and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras as well as Auckland Philharmonia. Alexandra has also created “The Nutcracker and I” – a ground-breaking multimedia peformance for piano solo with dance and digital animation.

It was premiered at Barbican’s Milton court in December 2017, and has since enjoyed international acclaim on tour across Europe, Australia, China, the Emirates and the US. The morning will conclude with a finger food lunch.
