All those interested in seeing dynamic, innovative acts who have successfully combined elements of jazz, funk and rock with beat-speak styles inspired by Jack Kerouac, C. R. Avery, Gill Scot Heron and Captain Beefheart - come to this show.

Beat-poet Shane Hollands is joined by accomplished musicians John McNab (guitar), Rod Redgrave (percussion), Julian Pettitt (bass) who create atmospheric soundscapes which are complemented by Hollands’ mesmerizing narratives of life, travels, experiences and people.

Irish band Champion Things is a groove-based spoken word group based around Gordon Hewitt (guitar, lyrics and vocals) and Wallace Gibson (Electronic and Acoustic Saxophone) accompanied by a floating line-up of musicians. The group is based in Belfast and produced their first album “Decline of the Adventure Playground” in mid 2019.

The album was recorded in Belfast’s Earth Music Studios with Vic Bronzini Fulton recording and contributing drum programmes, bass and samples to the project. The group emerged from Scream Blue Murmur, another Belfast based group playing a fusion of funk, soul, reggae and jazz, overlain with spoken word and song, which had toured extensively since 2006.
