Northart is excited to host an exhibition of Auckland based painter Kiran McKinnon's new series ‘Floodlines’.
This compelling series of paintings continues her exploration of experience and memory, particularly of the sensations of the natural world. Kiran sources her water from natural sources throughout New Zealand, working with watercolour and acrylic paint to create her painterly surfaces. The medium of paint is brought to the fore through her purist approach. Often her paintings are on a large scale, allowing the viewer to become immersed in the work.
Join Kiran McKinnon in conversation with fellow artist Sara Hughes in a tour and discussion of her exhibition on Sunday the 18th of October at 1pm. All welcome. Floodlines will have a special opening event on Sunday the 4th, of October from 3 to 5 pm, and then run daily at Northart until 1st of November. Both events are subject to change dependent on the alert level restrictions for Auckland. RSVP to staff@northart.co.nz.
Exhibition is on view Tuesday - Friday 10am to 4pm, Saturday - Sunday 11am - 4pm until 1st of November, see Northart's Facebook page for more details.
