Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland. This course is running offsite, at the Auckland Art Gallery.
This tour will run 10am - 1pm on Saturday 25 July 2020. Please register before attending to ensure that a space is available for you on this tour (places are limited).
Join us for a relaxed tour of the Auckland Art Gallery admiring both current and historic works by New Zealand artists and practitioners. We will enjoy a morning coffee and a short lecture about 'how to look at a work of art' before visiting different spaces within the art gallery. Each student will be asked to share insights and impressions as we tour various gallery space and discuss key works. Please meet in the foyer. Pencil and paper for notes will be provided.
Who should attend?
Anyone interested in learning more about NZ art or just wanting to broaden their art education generally.
What to bring/wear?
Wear comfortable shoes for walking around the gallery. Bring money for a cafe stop. Bring evidence of your residency (eg New Zealand driver’s licence, bank card, library card, utilities bill, bank statement or similar) for gallery admission. International visitors attending this tour will need to pay the gallery entrance fee ($20 at the time of publishing this course).
