Join artist Emily Hartley-Skudder in conversation with curator Grace Ryder to discuss her site-specific installation, Petting Aggression.

Transforming The Dowse Window into a bathroom / showroom / beauty salon, Petting Aggression presents an unsettling mix of clinical and childlike aesthetics, commenting on the politics and pathologising of the female body.

Speaking about this installation, Emily will discuss the impact of her experiences on residency in China in 2018 as the catalyst for a shift in her practice toward overt explorations of feminine aesthetics and the relationship these propose with the female body.
