Eight: Staff Selections From The Collection

“A work of art does not exist outside the perception of the audience.” - Abbas Kiarostami

Regardless of the artist’s intention, each of us has our own set of experiences and constructs that inform our preferences, and the way we engage with and derive meaning from artworks.

For this exhibition, staff members selected an artwork from the Whangārei Art Museum collection and provided a short statement about it. The selection is diverse, but are their responses unique or shared?
