Challenge yourself to a tough but scenically rewarding day out on the Queen Charlotte Track. Departing Picton at 8am your starting point is the Punga Cove Resort in the Endeavour Inlet, arriving at 10:30am you will have approximately 6 hours to complete the trail before meeting back at the Punga Cove Resort at 4:30pm for your pickup back to Picton approx 5:30pm.
The 11km return walk will take approximately 4-5 hours for a fit walker, the terrain is hard with lots of climbs and can be steep in some places, so we recommend a good level of fitness for this particular adventure.
In reward for your walking efforts is one of the best views in the Queen Charlotte Sounds, make sure you’ve got a camera on hand to capture the views beside the legendary signpost and to take in the fantastic 360 degree views from the lookout point over the top over the waterways and complex pathways carved by the tranquil waters.
For those who don’t want to spend the day walking, you can spend the whole day at the beautiful Punga Cove Resort and await the walkers return. There is plenty to see and do and there is a great beach to explore plus the bonus of the Boatshed Bar and Café will be open for meals and drinks. This is a great option for families or members of your group who may not quite be up to such a demanding walk.
