Stand-up comedy show about the (mostly) true story behind the (mostly) fictional novel, 2000ft Above Worry Level.

Have you ever wanted to laugh because if you didn’t, you’d cry? Eamonn’s comedy show explores that terrain; it’s his witty take on some of the typical challenges in a millennial’s life. As he says, “Everything is sad and funny and nothing is anything else”.

Eamonn Marra’s debut novel 2000ft Above Worry Level features a broke twenty-something working bad jobs, living in bad flats and struggling to connect with people. In real life, Eamonn spent the last decade mostly poor, depressed and working bad jobs. The novel and the life are two completely unrelated and separate stories that happen to share many experiences. ‘The true story that I made up’ is the (mostly) true story behind the (mostly) fictional novel.

“Marra … finds something humanising and reaffirming even in the seemingly mundane.” — Nathan Joe, Theatre Scenes

“Eamonn Marra has a great comedy on stage persona of a sweaty nervous low-key guy who’s the last person you’d expect to be on stage and it works well with deadpan delivery.” — Keeping Up With New Zealand

“…one of New Zealand’s most exciting comedians.” — Lumiere Reader
