Cultivating a calm and clear mind
June – 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th NZST 6.30 – 8.00 pm on Zoom platform- Free to use

Learn, enhance and deepen the formal practice of meditation.
Would you like to control your thoughts and emotions and have stable inner peace & happiness? Then this course is for you. Through the practice of meditation we learn how to take care of our minds, how to reduce our inner turmoil and engage in our life activities with more sensitivity and clarity. By learning what the mind is and how it works, we will be able to train it and develop positive and constructive mental states.

Meditations
The meditations will be guided and focused firstly on mindfulness of the breath, gradually moving to being mindful of mental activity and moving even subtler inwardly to being mindful of awareness of awareness. We will be applying the Buddhist technique of Calm Abiding.

The course will include a component of theory & weekly assignments where the following subjects will be cover & encouraged to practice:
What is the mind & it’s potential
Calm abiding technique
Mindfulness of our motivations
Emotional Intelligence
Thought transformation through compassion & wisdom

This course will allow participants to build a regular meditation practice and provide tools to continue the development of their mind training during their daily lives.

In these sessions you will be guided to focus first on the breath, gradually moving to being mindful of mental activity and moving even subtler inwardly to being mindful of awareness of awareness. This retreat will grant participants a structure to follow, thereby assisting them to continue with their practice.

We are asking those taking part in the online sessions to please consider making offerings to the Centre, the minimum suggested amount is $10 per session, but we do not wish financial hardship to be a barrier to you taking part in the teachings. All offerings given according to your means are very much appreciated, assisting the centre to host teachers to support you in your Dharma practice.

Sessions are held using the Zoom meeting platform. Once you have registered you will be sent instructions on how to join.
