Days of Ice - Explore Antarctica Family Day

Explore Antarctica– Family Day is a day of activities at The Arts Centre of Christchurch, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 10 October, the last weekend of school holidays. The family day is a chance to meet and interact with local Antarctic experts and scientists, with some fun activities and competitions for the whole family.

The day includes interactive exhibition stalls from local Antarctic organisations, a free “Explorer” bouncy castle obstacle course experience, food trucks, Antarctic icecreams, and a big screen playing Antarctic video, which will also screen the finalists of the Royal Society’s – Kids Antarctic Short Video competition.

Ōtautahi Christchurch is proud to be one of only five cities Antarctic Gateway cities in the world and every Spring we celebrate our unique connections with Antarctica through ten days of events and activities called “Days of Ice”.
