Barry’s Blueprints Trio continues to mine the terrain established by his 2018 quartet release Blueprints & Vignettes – which was awarded 4 stars by the Sydney Morning Herald and long-listed for the 14th Australian Music Prize. With bassist Jacques Emery and drummer Alex Inman-Hislop, the trio navigates between schematics and vignettes, through plethoric rhythmic labyrinths, and flirts with notions of 'improvised' & 'composed' with a distinctive improvisatory rapport.

Dr. Steve Barry is a New-Zealand born, Sydney-based pianist, organist, composer and improviser. A sessional lecturer in improvisation and jazz piano at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Steve maintains an active schedule composing, teaching and performing across Australia, New Zealand and Japan. He is recipient of numerous awards, including the Bell Award for Young Australian Jazz Artist of the Year and runner-up in the National Jazz Awards, and was finalist in the 2019 APRA Professional Development Awards.
