Renowned Jewish composer Jonathan Besser's music group, The Zestniks, bring his unique compositions to CJC.

Besser has long been Auckland based and the Zestniks are a band of leading young Auckland musicians, and more senior Jazz stalwarts like Roger Manins.

They will be performing pieces from Besser’s original composition the "Gimel 1 Suite" (2012) and some of Besser's songs, which will be performed by very special guest vocalist Carolina Moon.

"Gimel Suite 1" music is wildly romantic, energetic- yet sad; always tuneful music.

The "Gimel Suite 1" has already been toured nationally in 2012. It was also performed in the 2012 Sydney Shir Madness Jewish Music Festival. The Zestniks performed many times over 3 years at the 'Golden Dawn' Bar in Ponsonby

The Zestniks Octet for this performance are Jonathan Besser (piano). Peau Halapua (violin), Sophie Buxton (viola), Finn Scholes (vibes and trumpet), Roger Manins ( sax) Eamon Edmundson wells (double bass), nigel Gavin Guitar and Ron Samson (drums) with Carolina Moon ( vocals)
