JCJ: Jake Baxendale / Callum Allardice / Jasmine Lovell-Smith
JCJ: three celebrated Wellington composers, Jake Baxendale, Callum Allardice and Jasmine Lovell-Smith, will perform together for the first time at Creative Jazz Club Aotearoa, ably supported, subverted and/or supplanted by a wondrous Auckland rhythm section, featuring Crystal Choi, Eamon Eadmunson-Wells and Julien Dyne.

The three composers are founders of, and collaborators within the loose conglomeration Arthur Street Loft Orchestra, a weekly concert series that seeks to put large ensemble composition to the fore; this concert will be a chance for them to work together in a more intimate setting.

Recipients of a slew of awards, nominations and commissions, their work has been described variously as "a mix of erudition, beauty, and approachability", "music that lives and breathes and dreams" and "a herd of deer running along a mountainside". Obviously, such an experience is not to be missed!

The set will feature compositions from all three Wellingtonians, with a focus on melody, mood, and the blurred line between the written and the improvised.
