Come along to meet three of the foremost artists in New Zealand who create sculptures out of recycled metal. Nathan Hull, Marti Wong, and Adrian Worsley are the featured artists for this weekend at the Sculpture Park.
Your visit is an opportunity to learn about how each of these artists develop their sculptures. There will be talks and question/answer sessions scheduled at 11am and 2pm each day.
It is an opportunity to walk the 2 km long art-in-nature trail where you will discover more than 100 sculptures and installations all made here in New Zealand. This woodland setting is a former quarry rehabilitated over the past 28 years with more than 20,000 trees planted in what is now a protected forest.
The sculpture park encourages sustainable creativity with renewable materials:
- Providing opportunities and ideas for making biodegradable sculptures and installations
- Celebrating artists who use recyclable materials
- Providing educational materials for families and schools
