Join Carson Taare at the Whanganui Musicians Club with Gray Bartlett MBE & Mark Dennison.

Born and schooled in Palmerston North, Carson Taare started his music career at an early age and his passion for music has never stopped. Carson has performed on live television for the ‘This Is Not Who We Are’ concert at Sky City. 2019 was a busy year for Carson. He performed at the prestigious Country Music Association Festival in Nashville Tennessee, performed with the Glenn Millar Orchestra in Hamilton and Auckland, and was awarded the Pat McMinn Rising Star Award at the Variety Artist Club Awards. Carson is currently a member of the NZ Secondary Schools choir and the NZ Youth Choir and you can find him most months performing around the Manawatu at various fairs and events.

Gray Bartlett MBE needs no introduction. He was presented with the first-ever NZ International Gold Disc in March 1968 for “La Playa” which was a major hit in Japan in 1965. Gray has toured and supported many international acts including Connie Francis, Bobby Vee, The Ventures, Tom Jones, Herman’s Hermits & Michael Crawford. His awards are numerous and include NZCMA Hands of Fame 1981, Top NZ Country Band 1983, NZ Country Instrumentalist 1984 & 1986, and of course he was awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 1987 New Year Honours for services to entertainment.

Mark Dennison studied for four years in BMus and two years for Dip Jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His professional theatre credits as a musician include Annie, Anything Goes, Blood Brothers, Cabaret, Cats, Chicago, 42nd Street and many, many more. His theatre credits as a composer include Pete the Barefoot Postman (2001), Kevin the Musical (2014) and Freda Stark the Musical which is currently in development.

Together they will perform a number of original songs from Carson with a view to heading to the recording studio in the near future.
