Join us to take part in the CAN Seaweek 2020 Competition and Exhibition.
To celebrate Seaweek, enter this fun competition, and repurpose some of that supermarket waste that we can no longer recycle.
Create a 3D sculpture with an environmental message completely from non-recyclable plastic waste, either at home or at CAN from Monday 2 March in the special Plastic Fantastic workshop area on the Mezzanine. Your work will be added to our Plastic Fantastic Challenge exhibition display area and be judged on Friday 27 March by Guest Judges Environmental Artist Susan Mabin and Seaweek Educator Jake Brookie.
Susan and Jake will judge the competition based on the following criteria: Clear Visual Message, Construction and Visual Appreciation.
Your sculpture must stand on its own, or be made with a hook for hanging on the wall.
Adults and kids are welcome to take part, using clean plastic waste, either from home or found on the beach. You can enter as an individual or as a group. Entry to the competition is just $5 koha per entry, with a stack of prizes to be won!
Entry forms will be available at the CAN Front Desk. Children must be accompanied by an adult in the Plastic Fantastic Workshop. (Hot glue guns are available by request for over 14’s only).
