Kia ora a chairde!

The Irish writer James Joyce chose the 16th of June 1904 as the setting of his masterpiece Ulysses, and Leopold Bloom as its hero. Today this date is celebrated across the world as Bloomsday.

Since the first reenactment of Bloom's journey in 1954, Bloomsday has grown into a world wide literary festival where people can enjoy the works of Joyce and his famously unreadable novel.

From Joyce's writing about Dublin to his New Zealand connection, this is a wonderful occasion to come together and celebrate Irish culture in Kiwi style.

So pop into Pegasus Books throughout the afternoon for readings, discussions and some traditional Irish refreshments.

Whether you've read the book or never heard of it come along, all are welcome!

“A man of genius makes no mistakes. His errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery.”
