An Exhibition by Printmaker Rachael Stone.
Join Rachael Stone to celebrate the opening of her exhibition on Friday 11 December, 5-7 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

An exhibition of contemporary printmaking, promoting positive self-esteem messages to our tamariki.

To encourage all the children in our lives to value their voice, to love the skin they’re in and to truly believe in themselves.

You matter. Just as you are – blooming wonderful!

Proudly supported by Napier Creative Communities Scheme and HaHa Wines.

About Rachael:

“I look to my six-year-old daughter as a muse and inspiration for many of my projects. I absolutely adore the wonder with which children see the world and hope my art can capture a little sprinkling of that magic.”

Born in the South Island but raised in the North – and having studied visual arts for 2 years in Melbourne – Rachael Stone currently resides in Napier.

From a little seaside cottage, she creates, notably the intricate etchings that are fast becoming her signature. Her subject matter is motivated by a simple and essential maxim: that is, the need to value your voice, love the skin you’re in and to truly believe in yourself.

Rachael also enjoys printing large colourful abstracts and still lifes, predominantly made from ink printed on the tissue. Her diverse range of printmaking techniques includes linocut, woodblock, screen printing and drypoint among others.

Furthermore, she has found time to produce two books. “I Hope You” and “I See A Girl” both promoting positive self-esteem messages to our children. Priced at just $25 per copy and beautifully packaged, Rachael’s books are available to purchase from the CAN shop. You will also find a range of cards by Rachael featuring the illustrations from her books available priced at $5 each.aker Rachael Stone
