Blooming Amazing - by Jenny Gillies

‘Blooming Amazing’ is the award-winning exhibition of Christchurch based costume and fabric artist, Jenny Gillies.

This is an exhibition of Jenny’s stunning treasured collection of wearable flower costume art.

Gillies’ costumes have been featured in national and international in exhibitions and live performances. Beauty, humour and an abundance of colour are showcased in the globally recognised designer’s works.

Jenny Gillies will talk about her experiences at 11 am on Saturday and Sunday in the Caroline Bay Hall. (no charge for the talk other than the exhibition entry fee). Copies of Jenny's book 'florabundance' will also be available.

Blooming Amazing and Jenny Gillies are brought to Timaru by the Timaru Festival of Roses, with the support of Special Events Aoraki, Venture Timaru, Timaru District Council, Trust Aoraki, Pub Charity and The Southern Trust.

Also featuring in the Caroline Bay Hall will be the magnificent colour, splendour and bouquet of the annual Rose Show (free entry to the Rose Show) and an exhibition of local embroidery and needlework art from Aoraki Embroiderers’ Guild.

The exhibition will run daily on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Caroline Bay Hall.

Entry is $5 per person with school children and pre-schoolers free.
