Beginners' Soap Making With Jackie Ziegler

Learn how to make soap from scratch using the cold process technique.

Over six evenings, we will cover the theory of soap making, the different oils and fats used to make soap, how to calculate your own recipes, colouring and fragrancing your soap, and how to add various ingredients to your soap. Aside from the theory, you will also make a small loaf of soap each evening for you to take home and keep. All materials are provided ($60 value) and included within the class fee. Jackie has decades of experience 'stirring my soap pot' with 15 years teaching experience to go with it. She says " Making my own skin care products has always been my obsession and I love to pass on my knowledge and passion to others. With a degree in science from Massey University, my courses focus on both theory and practical experience, because I strongly believe that when you understand the processes of soap making, it will allow you to make better soaps, both in quality and design. I have taught as various community colleges, centres and schools. I also advise and help companies create and improve their own formulations.
