Dusty Room Productions are very excited to present our latest production, ALONE - a heart-racing intergalactic exploration of what, or who, is worth saving. This show will be presented as part of Auckland Fringe Festival 2020.
We have some wicked ideas in the works (keep on reading for a sneaky blurb!), but we need the support of our friends, whānau, theatre and wider community to help make some REAL MAGIC happen! So, in order to raise some funds, we have decided to hold a fundraiser at the very cool Stardome Observatory.
Finding funding for theatre can be super tricky, and crowdfunding can feel a little bit icky after the thousandth time, so why not come and join us for an hour-long show at the planetarium, suitable for the whole family instead! Each ticket is $20 and 100% of the profit made comes straight to Dusty Room to help us fund things like props, costumes and our set for our first season to be performed as part of Auckland Fringe 20202. Spaceships don't come cheap!
Not only will you be helping us to fund something really awesome, but you will also have an awesome time and maybe learn something awesome too - sounds pretty AWESOME to us!
A little bit about ALONE:
Aboard a crowd-funded spacecraft called ‘The Lily of the Nile’ – a two-woman crew are on the home stretch of a two-year mission that could provide a solution for an Earth, ravaged by climate change.
Pragmatic and passionate Doctor Sarah Taylor believes her work with foreign micro-bacterium could make Earth habitable once more. Jessica Holland – a charismatic and quick-witted young pilot - is charged with getting Doctor Taylor’s work and samples home. But a collision with space debris leads to the terrifying discovery that their journey home may not be going quite to plan...
Alone is written and directed by Luke Thornborough and produced by Briar Collard at Dusty Room Productions.
