Frontier Touring and I Oh You are delighted to announce the return of Alex Cameron, performing four headline shows in Australia and New Zealand – Sydney, Brisbane, Wellington and Auckland – in March 2020. The tour comes in support of Cameron’s recently released acclaimed third album, Miami Memory (out now via Secretly Canadian).

On track to perform over 100 shows in 2019 with his band – including sax player and collaborator Roy Molloy – the Sydney-born singer and songwriter (now residing in the US) is one of music’s most exciting indie artists. His last tour to AU/NZ in February 2018 saw venue upgrades after tix flew out the door – fans are encouraged to move fast on these new shows.

Diving headfirst into authenticity with Miami Memory (released in September 2019), Cameron’s latest listen is a love letter to his long-term partner and collaborator, artist and “Girls” actor Jemima Kirke. Bitingly funny, musically expansive and at times lustful, hilarious, vulnerable and tender, on his latest release, Cameron delivers his most personal songs yet… all with the same genre-busting, brash pop narrative nous he’s infamous for. Steeped in modern-day romance, tracks such as ‘Divorce’, ‘Far From Born Again’, ‘Miami Memory’ and ‘Stepdad’ see Alex Cameron at his wildly subversive and hand-on-heart best.

"Tender, playful, and occasionally just plain triumphant." – popmatters.com

"If there is a contemporary artist who can successfully balance cliché and thought-provoking pop music, it’s Cameron." – undertheradarmag.com

‘Who would have thought that satire on incels and men’s rights activists sung by a man with slicked-back hair, no eyebrows and bad sunglasses could be so sexy? … Seeing Alex Cameron live isn’t a once in a lifetime experience. It’s a pleasure to be sampled again and again, by any means necessary.’ – London In Stereo

‘‘From the time that Cameron hit the stage at the Phoenix the crowd instantly lost it, and for good reason… Make sure you catch this amazing entertainer live, his stage performance is always amazing." – canadianbeats.ca

Cameron’s 2014 debut record Jumping The Shark and 2017’s Forced Witness saw him hailed as an (at times controversial) voice to watch. The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers took notice, enlisting him to co-write five tracks on the band’s fifth album, Wonderful Wonderful. Now, Cameron has dropped the laconic, hypermasculine role-playing of his first two solo releases for Miami Memory’s golden-hued, from-the-heart modern pop.

“When you listen to these songs, and you’re waiting for the twist, or the joke, or any kind of discomfort, I can assure you none of those things was there when I wrote them,” he says. “Miami Memory is the story of a couple balancing sex with contemporary family values… It’s my gift to my girlfriend, a symbol to hoist on the totem of love.”

Don’t miss Alex Cameron live in March 2020!
