Join David Wong Hop for this fascinating talk about the Chinese who helped shape Aotearoa as we know it today - from the goldfields, to market gardens and laundries - to professionals and to politicans.

China went through many changes, socially and politically. New migrants came to New Zealand looking for a better life. Chinese left the southern goldfields and came north, they worked in market gardens, laundries, fruit shops or started their own business.

Early Chinese descendants gradually entered the professions and a few Chinese emerged as politicians.
