Additions + Alterations

Additions & Alterations presents a new installation by Wellington-based artist Emily Hartley-Skudder, alongside a selection of works from the Gallery's contemporary collection. Using the notion of re-framing or re-positioning as a thematic tool, these collection works all sit within a gallery environment that has been changed through Hartley-Skudder's work.

Through her series of interventions, the gallery space is altered, subverting its typical aesthetic. Placed together with works by other contemporary artists including Fiona Connor, Kawita Vatanalyankur, Nick Austin and Kushan Bush, Additions & Alterations explores the impacts of context, reproduction, materiality and function within contemporary practice.
