This annual event in its 12th year, is hosted by Bike Northland and local Whangarei cycling club Marsden Wheelers. The location is approximately 20 minutes from Whangarei's CBD.
The event caters for all ages and riding abilities - we have something for everyone.
The event has full traffic management, along with our own volunteers, across the course to keep all riders safe & ensuring they know which direction to go. We also have lead cars, sag wagon etc.
The event starts from Mangakahia Sports Complex (approx. 20 mins from Whangarei CBD)
Ride options are:
- Fred Ogle Memorial Ride 110km starts at 9 am
- Lynley MacDonald Ride 50 km starts at 9.30 am
- Ebike Ride 50km starts at 9.20 am
- MyRide Whangarei 25 km Fun Ride starts at 9.40 am
- MyRide Whangarei 12.5km Fun Ride starts at 9.40 am

Entry in all ride events includes a drink and meal voucher to be redeemed with Handsome Frog Catering, who will be onsite for the entire day. All riders will receive a rider pack with a ride number and other goodies included. We also have some great spot prizes up for grabs.
While the main focus is participation, we do offer prize money for each ride. Sponsored prize money and medals have been confirmed for the top 3 placegetters (male and female athletes) in each event as follows:
Fred Ogle Memorial 110km Ride - 1st place $600, 2nd place $250 and 3rd place $150
Lynley MacDonald 50km Ride - 1st place $100, 2nd place $50 and 3rd place $30
MyRide Whangarei 25km Ride - 1st place $50, 2nd place $30 and 3rd place $20
MyRide Whangarei 12.5km Ride - 1st place $30, 2nd place $20 and 3rd place $10
EBike 50km - placegetter prizes and specific spot prizes
