Are you a young LGBTQIA+ person who loves to get their thoughts down on paper?

Join acclaimed writers Chris Tse and Gem Wilder for a writing workshop hosted by OuterSpaces and InsideOUT to celebrate Pride in New Zealand's capital city.

This free workshop at the start of Wellington Pride Festival will provide a safe space to explore queer themes and stories through conversation and writing exercises. Participants should come prepared to write and give feedback on others’ writing.

Chris Tse studied film and English literature at Victoria University of Wellington, where he also completed an MA in Creative Writing at the International Institute of Modern Letters.

His poetry, short fiction, and non-fiction has been widely published in numerous journals, magazines and anthologies, including Best New Zealand Poems, Sport, Turbine, Capital Magazine, The Spinoff, The New Zealand Listener, Landfall, Cha, Poetry NZ, Sweet Mammalian, Glitterwolf, Cordite Poetry Review, Ika, Cyphers, Poetry, and Mimicry.

Gem Wilder is a Wellington writer. She has been published in Sport, Turbine, The Spinoff, Is It Bedtime Yet?, and The Sapling. She has read her work at The Dowse, Enjoy Gallery, Kava Club Chop Suey Hui, LitCrawl, and the Common Ground Community Arts Festival.

This workshop is totally free, with drinks and snacks provided - so make sure to book your place through Eventfinda now to avoid disappointment! We hope to see you soon!
