The principles of design, composition, colour mixing, tools and various exercises will all form part of this series of classes aimed at offering the painter some skills for continued development. We will look at value and how this related to colour.
We will make paintings in greyscale and use NOTAN sketches to establish good composition.
We will address the skill of mixing the colours that you want (not rely on luck!) and avoid making muddy colours when not wanted. To that end, we will make several charts of the oil colours you own so you know what each mix will do. This will lead to less frustration and more harmonious painting. Best of all, you will have a much better understanding of colour.
