Donna Kerridge (Ngāti Tahinga, Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Maniapoto).
Donna is a staunch advocate for caring and protecting Papatūānuku who sustains the health and well being humankind. Through the teachings of Rongoā Māori, Māori healing practices, she shares traditional principles upon which our health depends and how nature provides a blueprint for managing our wellness into the future.
Donna has trained in both Western and New Zealand indigenous health systems and has a healthy respect for both. However, her undeniable admiration for the wisdom of her ancestors has taught her that while the technology available to us in a modern world constantly changes, the values of her ancestors serve as a constant guide in a world where everything is connected.
Everything we do, say or think matters. For every action there is a reaction, and our wellbeing starts not with us but the whenua. It is no mistake that the Māori word ‘whenua’ describes both the placenta and the earth.
As the placenta is to the unborn child so too the earth is to us.
