Classical soprano Georgia Jamieson Emms trained in New Zealand and then lived and worked as a singer in Germany. The title ‘Wanderlust’ is a nod to Georgia’s years in Germany, and refers to her passion for travel, specifically her passion for travelling with music.
Georgia wanted to come home to New Zealand and create a company that would perform fun, affordable, accessible opera, performed in English with comfortable running time in smaller centres. Wanderlust Theatre was formed in 2013. Wanderlust Opera and The Screening Room have joined forces to bring you a very special event, a new spin on the classic dinner-and-a-show: 2-course dinner and 2-course opera. A glass of sparkling wine in hand, guests will hear soprano Georgia Jamieson Emms and baritone Robert Tucker, accompanied by Amber Rainey, perform Peter Reynolds’ ‘The Sands of Time’, the shortest opera in the Guinness Book of World Records at 4 minutes long. This will be followed by dinner and a second opera, Menotti’s romantic comedy ‘The Telephone’.
BOOK TICKETS by phone on (06) 378 6191, or in person at The Screening Room restaurant.
