VOLUME

The 2019 Volume Mapua Literary Festival is a boutique literary festival featuring some of New Zealand’s best and most interesting writers. Organised by Volume, the 2018 New Zealand Bookshop of the Year, the festival continues the series of literary events held in Mapua to benefit the Mapua Community Library. All ticket sales benefit the library.

In her internationally acclaimed essay collectionCan You Tolerate This? Ashleigh Young reveals depths, dimensions and subtleties of difficult or often overlooked subjects. In her new book of poetry, How I Get Ready, she explores various ways of dealing with the uncertainties that underlie both poetry and everyday life.

Ashleigh won a Windham-Campbell Prize and the 2017 Royal Society Te Ap?rangi Award for General Non-Fiction for Can You Tolerate This? She works as an editor and lives in Wellington.

Come and hear Ashleigh in conversation with Thomas Koed of Volume.
