Join us on this 90-minute walk tour of inner city Wellington, New Zealand and learn about: homosexual law reform, LGBTI rainbow personalities, churches and LGBTI rainbow communities, imprisonment on Matiu Somes Island and a WW1 same-sex love story.
The tour ends at the NZ Portrait Gallery on the waterfront where there is currently a fantastic rainbow exhibition (free entry): Poutokomanawa: The Carmen Rupe Generation. It features Carmen Rupe, Chrissy Witoko, Dana de Milo, Sam Orchard, Taupuruariki Brightwell and Jack Trolove.
Starts: Meet on the steps of Parliament buildings (on the forecourt by the flag poles)
Ends: NZ Portrait Gallery on the waterfront
Duration: 90 minutes

Accessibility: Most of the walk is on the flat using accessible public footpaths, although there is a section where we will take the steps from The Terrace down to Lambton Quay (an alternative route can be taken).
