Respected Chinese New Zealand artists Lu Bo and Bangzhen Deng provide an intriguing glimpse into ancient Chinese tradition, aesthetics and architecture with their series of rubbings from Han Dynasty portrait bricks.
Made by Bo and Deng some 20 years ago and in the gallery for just a few days, the rubbings are essentially prints of drawings and inscriptions from a golden age in Chinese history that dates from 206 BC through to 220 AD.
