You are invited to visit Moturoa School and see the native plant propagation and integrated learning programme in action, and hear about our Taranaki wide planting programme.
The students are growing and learning about Taranaki's indigenous plants with a particular focus on rare and threatened coastal species. All of the children are involved in the full cycle of propagation from seed and cutting material and are involved in real conservation actions by planting out the threatened species they grow in natural habitats, reserves and public gardens in various Taranaki locations.
Students from the school's 'Native Plant Study Group' will also give guided tours of the extensive native plant gardens in the school grounds which feature the special Taranaki species that they grow, plant and distribute throughout the region.
This event is part of Conservation Week 2019 - www.conservationweek.org.nz
