For Fourteen Years the GO-4-12 Youth Adventure Race has offered youth the opportunity to Explore, be Challenged and Grow through taking part in an Authentic Adventure Race designed to be Safe, fun and achievable.

With three Race lengths, a Three Hour a Six Hour and the original Twelve Hour event there is an event for everyone.

3-Hour Explorer:
A Three-hour event. For years 7 -10. Teams of 2, single or mixed gender. A fun introduction to adventure racing with lots of different activities (no biking).

6-Hour Adventure
A Six-hour event. For years 9 and above. Teams of 4, single or mixed gender. Fun with lots of different activities, biking, navigation, kayaking.

GO-4-12 Challenge - North Island Secondary Schools Adventure Racing Champs
A Twelve-hour event. For years 10 and above. Teams of 4, single or mixed gender. Authentic adventure race with core disciplines - mountain biking, walking/running, rope skills and navigation.

We want to challenge and to grow young people through a quality adventure race, that will inspire trust, teamwork and self-belief in an environment that embodies and promotes holistic growth and healthy competition. The 12-Hour Challenge NISSARC event is designed to challenge competitors perseverance, teamwork and to stretch them both mentally and physically.

The 3 Hour Explorer event is designed to be a fun introduction to Adventure Racing and can be achieved by any kid of any fitness, the focus is on fun and will have lots of stationary challenges. The 6 Hour Adventure event is more physically demanding than the 3 hour and provides a bridge into the 12 hour event and was developed as it was identified that the 12 hour was a bit daunting for many competitors.

When: All three events will be held on the weekend commencing Friday 12th April 2019.

The 3-hour Explorer and 6-hour Adventure events take place on Saturday 13th April
The GO-4-12 Challenge NISSARC (12-hour event) takes place on Friday 12th, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th April 2019 (Saturday 13th being race day).

Where: The 2019 GO-4-12 Youth Adventure Race will be based from Guthrie Smith Education Centre 3561 SH 2, Tutira Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand
