Trapping Workshop itinerary.

9am - 10am - Keynote speaker: Duncan Kay, Zero Invasive Predators (ZIP). Thinking outside the box to become predator free.

10:30 – 12:30 concurrent workshops; choose between:
- Back to Basics:
Suitable for community group volunteers and backyard trappers. Learn how to trap to successfully meet your goals. Hands on session covering best practice, trap types, rat/mustelid identification, and calibration and maintenance.

- Monitoring:
Learn from our experts Phil Clerke (DOC) and Nikki McArthur (Wildlife Management International Ltd) about how to set up an effective monitoring regime to measure pests and native species to improve your trapping programme. There will be a question/answer session to discuss your projects.

Field trip (optional, bookings essential). $10pp
12:30 - 1pm Head to Cougarline jetty. BYO packed lunch to eat on the boat
1:00 - 2:00 Travel to Kaipupu Wildlife Sanctuary including a talk on Picton Dawn Chorus
2:00 - 3:30 Circuit Kaipupu; 1-1 1/2; hr walk. Groups will be spilt into “back to basics” or “monitoring”, for more in-depth discussion on these topics. Bring solid shoes, raincoat and warm clothes
3:30 - 4pm Return to Picton
