The Wines of Te Kairanga With Winemaker John Kavanagh

The story of Te Kairanga is embedded in the rich tapestry of Martinborough's wine history, with the winery and vineyards established on land owned by Martinborough's founding father John Martin. His original cottage is now the winery's cellar door - and home to the tasty monthly market at Te Kairanga.

John Kavanagh is one of New Zealand's top winemakers and even more so since he took over the winemaking at Te Kairanga in 2012, transforming the winery in the process.Join John for new and aged Riesling, Chardonnay and, of course, Pinot Noir whilst discussing the trials and triumphs of making wine at one of Martinborough's earliest, longest lived wineries. The tasting will finish with a vertical of three vintages of the John Martin Pinot Noir, a wine that has consecutively won Decanter awards, culminating recently with the Best in Show for the 2017.
