The River City Jazz Men

The River City Jazz Men from Christchurch, going by the reviews of their performances and our own experience of them in 2018, would have to New Zealand's premier dixie land band. Their playing is fresh and lively and each member is master of his chosen instrument.

Applauded for their wonderful improvisations, vocal renditions and authentic dixie interpretations, they unashamedly play well established jazz standards from the early 1900s onwards. The traditional line-up of trumpet, trombone, drums, upright bass, clarinet and banjo delivers infectious toe-tapping music in the most professional style.
