About the Day Course:
In Sutra of the Four Noble Truths Buddha says, ‘You should know sufferings. You should abandon origins. You should practise the path. You should attain cessations.’

To lead living beings to everlasting peace and happiness Buddha taught the Four Noble Truths. These profound teachings explain how to correctly identify the causes of happiness and suffering and how to follow the path which leads to pure freedom happiness.

This is a wonderful opportunity to receive these profound teachings from visiting Teacher Gen Kelsang Demo and learn how to integrate the wisdom of the Four Noble Truths in our normal daily life, without having to abandon our family, work and responsibilities.

About the Teacher:
Gen Kelsang Demo is the Resident Teacher at Amitabha Centre in Palmerston North and has studied, practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism since its beginnings in New Zealand.

With kindness and clarity Gen Demo makes Buddha’s teachings accessible and relevant to our modern daily lives. She is an inspiring Buddhist practitioner who encourages us to integrate these teachings into our busy lives in practical and joyful ways.

10.00 – 11.15am: Teaching
11.15 – 11.45am: Morning tea
11.45 – 12.30pm: Guided meditation
12.00 – 2.00pm: Lunch break
2.00 – 3.15pm: Teaching
3.15 – 3.45pm: Afternoon tea
3.45 – 4.30pm: Guided meditation

What to expect at a class:
These classes are based on Buddha’s teachings on the mind, but you do not need to be a Buddhist to attend, or to benefit from them.

There is no physical exercise involved and you can choose to sit either in a chair or on a cushion.

These classes are suitable for all levels of experience.
