The technology world its carving its path into the fashion space. As our clothing turns increasingly 'smart' - smartwatches, smart jackets, smart glasses - we can absolutely say that the line between the two industries is blurring.

Join us for the fifth in our Technology Trends Speaker Series - on the Future of Fashion and Wearable Tech.

Hear from two keen entrepreneurs and experimenters with technology and fashion on their views of this crossover- Amelia Diggle of Human Interface Jewellery and Suranga Nanayakkara of the Auckland Bioengineering Institute.

We will cover:
- How technology will continue to influence fashion going forward
- How we can expect technology to augment our clothing and lives in the future
- The opportunities this presents for entrepreneurs

About our speakers:
Suranga Nanayakkara is an Associate Professor at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, University of Auckland. In 2011, he founded the "Augmented Human Lab”(www.ahlab.org) to explore ways of creating ‘enabling’ human-computer interfaces as natural extensions of our body, mind and behaviour.

Suranga has been recognised with many awards, including young inventor under 35 (TR35 award) in the Asia Pacific region by MIT TechReview, Ten Outstanding Young Professionals (TOYP) by JCI Sri Lanka and INK Fellow 2016.

Amelia Diggle is designer and founder of Human Interface Jewellery. She translates software design techniques and methods along with her product design background to build a jewellery range using the latest technology.

Open to students and staff at the University of Auckland and members of the public.
