Mind the 'tumbleweed' as you make your way into the village of Te Puna Hipi... An adaptation of Lope De Vega’s Fuenteovejuna, this classic from the Spanish Golden Age is reimagined as a colonial New Zealand Western. When General Seth Godfrey sets up camp near Te Puna Hipi - 'The Sheep Well' - the humble village becomes ridden with treachery, chaos and despair. With the settlement's male population already decimated by war, Te Puna Hipi's colourful inhabitants band together to form an uprising against this new evil. Fusing tragedy with comedy, music, dance and unforgettable characters, Te Puna Hipi proves that it takes a village to find the true meaning of justice…
